Los Cabos-specific gotchas

  • Most Los Cabos beaches are not swimmable. Strong Pacific currents mean many resorts are pool-first properties; the swimmable exception is El Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. If ocean swimming matters, check which zone the hotel is actually in.
  • Big suite ≠ five-person suite. Los Cabos entry suites are among the largest in Mexico, but several brands still publish a max occupancy of 4 for them. The max — not the floor plan — decides whether a fifth guest may check in at all.
  • Kids-stay-free promos come with blackout walls. Los Cabos all-inclusives run aggressive kids-free promotions, many excluding the Christmas–New Year and spring-break windows entirely. A promo is a price, never a bed: the fit verdicts here ignore it completely.
  • The airport is far from Cabo San Lucas. Los Cabos airport (SJD) sits near San José del Cabo; Corridor resorts run 25–40 minutes and Cabo San Lucas up to an hour. Factor transfers into a late-arrival day with kids.
