Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026. This policy describes what actually happens on familyhotelscout.com — a static website with no accounts, no forms, and no checkout. We keep it short because the honest list is short.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, logins, or profiles.
- No forms, comment systems, or newsletter signups.
- No bookings and no payment details — booking happens on our partners' sites, never here.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not buy it either.
The family details you type into the finder (adults, kids' ages, destination) are used in your browser to compute room verdicts. They are not sent to us and not stored.
Analytics: how visits are measured
We measure traffic so we know which pages help families and which don't. Two tools do this:
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-YFQWEBZPN1). Google Analytics sets cookies and measures visits: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, the site that referred you, and time spent. This data is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. A lightweight measurement script from Cloudflare, our host, that counts visits, pages, referrers, and countries. It is designed to work without cookies and without fingerprinting visitors.
Because the site is hosted on Cloudflare, Cloudflare also processes basic request data (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, as any web host does.
Affiliate links and the Travelpayouts script
This site is funded by affiliate commissions. Two things to know:
- Booking links. "Check live price" buttons and similar links lead to booking partners such as Expedia. The link carries an affiliate identifier so the partner can attribute a booking to this site and pay us a commission (at no extra cost to you). Once you leave our site, the partner's own privacy policy and cookie practices apply — for Expedia, see Expedia's privacy statement.
- Travelpayouts Drive script. A script from Travelpayouts, our affiliate network, is served with our pages via Cloudflare. It supports affiliate monetization on the site and may use cookies or similar technology to measure clicks and attribute bookings made after following our booking links.
- Google AdSense. Our pages include Google's AdSense code. If and when advertising is enabled on this site, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve and personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings.
Email — the only data you can send us
If you write to contact@familyhotelscout.com, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to read and reply to you — for example, to check a data correction. We do not add you to a mailing list and do not share your email for marketing.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works the same; analytics simply undercounts your visit.
- You can browse without clicking booking links if you prefer not to be measured by affiliate partners.

Who this site is for
FamilyHotelScout is written for adults planning family travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the site has no features that ask anyone for personal details.
Changes to this policy
If our tools or practices change, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before — or at the latest when — they take effect. Questions are welcome via the contact page.
