Anaheim family-of-5 hotels

Anaheim is a two-tier market: Disney's three on-site hotels, and the Harbor Boulevard "Good Neighbor" hotels a short walk from the gates. The good news for families of five is that the classic Disneyland-area room layout — two queens plus a daybed or bunk beds — was designed with you in mind. The catch is confirming it in the room type you actually book. Verdicts are for 2 adults + kids 5, 8, 11, from official per-room data.

Anaheim-specific gotchas

  • The fifth bed is usually a daybed. At the Disney on-site hotels the standard five-person layout is two queens plus a daybed — a real single bed, but sized for a child or smaller teen. Check the bed description on the room you book, not the hotel headline.
  • On-site vs. Good Neighbor is a walk-time decision. Harbor Boulevard hotels can be closer to the main gates than some on-site rooms are to the parks — but only on-site guests get Disney's early-entry benefit. Compare the actual walking route, not the marketing radius.
  • Parking and resort fees stack up off-site. Several Good Neighbor hotels charge nightly parking that rivals the room-rate difference versus on-site. We record the published fees on each hotel page; add them before comparing.
  • "Sleeps 5" sometimes means a sofa bed appears. Some Anaheim suites reach five only with a sleeper sofa in the living area. Whether the hotel names that bed in the room you booked decides our verdict — a pull-out in a photo is not a published bed.
